About Region 2

Heather Quilters' display at Surrey Regional Day

Welcome to Region 2 Web Pages

Our region covers the whole of Kent, Surrey and Sussex, we have some 800 individual members and 40 affiliated groups. Our members enjoy preferential rates for the many events that take place in the region. In fact we have been known to put free events on for members

Our Regional Days are entertaining and inspirational, even to experienced quilters.  Anyone can attend our Regional and Area Days and the workshops suit all abilities. When we can, we organise associated workshops around the region, taking advantage of our speakers’ special talents.

Hever Castle in Kent, hosts our largest event each September.  It is a three day event and any member can exhibit or enter the challenge no matter what their ability. For each item entered you get a free entry ticket to the Castle.

In addition to the Regional and Area Days, there are myriads of workshops and social activities taking place, you can find them listed on the website and they can be booked online via Paypal.

Stash sales are organised giving people the opportunity to sell excess fabric and notions, which of course, gives the rest of us the opportunity to increase our stash at favourable prices and maybe, find that illusive piece of fabric to finish a project.

Region 2 has a vibrant Young Quilter Community, there are six groups around the region with a possible three more groups starting up soon. We are working to make sure our Young Quilters have reliable machines to start them on a lifetime of quilting.

Of course, none of these activities would take place without our hardworking committee and our band of volunteers.

You too could be a volunteer or even a committee member, why not find out what opportunities are available by contacting either your nearest area representative or myself.  Contact details are on the website or you can look on the inside cover of our 48 page newsletter ‘Two’s Company’.

Best Wishes
